Claudio Tozzi is one of the leading figures of international Pop Art. While his Western counterparts frequently celebrate the consumer pop culture of the time, Tozzi’s work stands as a critical and fundamentally political response to it.
Tozzi has exhibited extensively internationally. He has participated in numerous biennales including Venice (where he had a room dedicated to his work), Havana and Sao Paolo. Most recently, his work has been included in important Pop Art surveys – ‘The EY Exhibition: The World Goes Pop’ at the Tate Modern and ‘International Pop’ at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis.
