Patricia Domínguez's first solo exhibition in Italy, Il cavallo bianco, gravido / The white horse, pregnant is open at Made in Cloister, Naples.
Il cavallo bianco, gravido is a collaboration between Fondazione Made in Cloister and nonlineare - independent curatorial initiative. The exhibition traces Domínguez’s video practice over a decade, through which she has established herself as one of the leading creative voices in the intersection of art, science and ecology.
Six video pieces serve as cybernetic altars within shrines devoted to Water, Earth, Animals, Plants, and the Invisible - creating the artist’s compendium of myths, motifs, and rituals that emerge from planetary, spiritual and interspecies encounters between radically different cosmologies, developed in collaboration with Neapolitan artisans. These altars conjure an ecosystem where serpents commune with drones, where pre-Columbian artifacts cohabitate with corporate imagery in acts of unlikely, unholy kinship. The shrines do not merely offer an inventory of worlds but create conditions for their mutual transformation. Drawing on extensive ethnobotanical research, Domínguez activates what she describes as strategic withdrawal from digital entrapment in favor of interspecies alliance, in order to access planetary memory and its ancient, generative wisdom.
