De La Warr Pavilion

Claudia Alarcón & Silät's first solo museum exhibition

This June, the acclaimed textile collective Claudia Alarcón & Silät open their first institutional solo exhibition, Tayhin, at the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex.

Tayhin brings together new works by the Indigenous Wichí textile collective, shown alongside pieces from their celebrated presentation at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024. Conceived as a site-specific installation in the first floor gallery, the exhibition marks the collective's first solo museum show to date.

The exhibition’s title, Tayhin, is the Wichí term for weaving, an intransitive verb that also means building, reconstructing and healing. It speaks to the collective and collaborative spirit of image-making at the heart of Claudia Alarcón & Silät’s practice.
