Los ojos y las sombras belongs to an emerging body of work developed by Claudia Alarcón in 2026, introducing a new visual language of richly coloured woven compositions. These vibrant swatches of colour are created using natural dyes derived from the flora and fauna of the Gran Chaco region. The title, The Eyes and the Shadows, evokes the ancestral knowledge embedded in these textiles, honouring techniques passed down through generations over centuries. At once a celebration of colour and a testament to cultural continuity, the work marks an exciting new chapter in Alarcón’s artistic practice.
