Trained as an illustrative botanist, Patricia Domínguez draws on experimental ethnobotany, quantum thought, dreamlike fiction, and the knowledge embedded in the natural world to expand our understanding of both the vegetal and spiritual realms. Working from what she describes as a form of botanical science fiction, her practice explores how plants, landscapes, and ancestral forms of knowledge can offer alternative perspectives on contemporary life, seeking to restore a dialogue between humans and the living world. Through photography, video, and installation, Domínguez gives visual form to visions, teachings, and pathways inspired by her encounters with plants and nature, creating poetic and imaginative works that remind us of our profound connection to the earth and the unseen networks that sustain life.

These two analogue photographs emerge from an intimate process of knowledge and connection undertaken by Patricia Domínguez during her apprenticeship with Amador Aniceto, a healer residing in Madre de Dios, Peru. Honoured by the plants themselves as "General Doctor of the Flora and Fauna of the Universe" for his sacred, multiple and mystical vision of the vegetal universe, Amador guided the artist in activating a living dialogue with plant intelligence.

In comparto mi espíritu con tu flor, through a shared green tonality of inverted colour, Domínguez dissolves the boundary between nature and subject, suspending the image in a space where interconnection challenges the binaries imposed by Western epistemologies. In floripondio, doble conexión sin mente, activada, two Brugmansias hang in deep forest shadow, in parallel dialogue with two gloved hands emerging from below - a double connection activated, inseparable from the plant's own duality: long revered across Latin America for its role in healing and spiritual ritual, and equally known for its powerful toxicity - a body of knowledge at once ancient and endangered.
